oOh!media helps adidas fight plastic waste

This week, oOh!media NZ is helping adidas fight plastic waste through its latest campaign for Stan Smith sneakers – via a custom built, eco-friendly shelter.

The high impact Superama Special Build shelter celebrates the release of the revised adidas sneaker through a full take-over of the site.

The unique special build process involved replacing the four light panels with pavement to ceiling living foliage creating multiple living walls.

The shelter take-over gives adidas 100 percent share of voice through the custom oOh! Superama wrap.

Knowing that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish – and now is the time to create change – adidas has taken their sustainability principles above the line, ensuring that all OOH materials have been created from completely sustainable and green materials.

The campaign highlights oOh!’s capabilities with out of home advertising while also demonstrating how OOH advertisers are caring more and more about sustainability – not just in their products and company policies, but in their advertising methods.

oOh! Head of Sales Ben Gibb says: “We haven’t done anything like this to this scale before, so it was really exciting to see it come to life with adidas utilising the creative potential of oOh! Studio’s Special Builds.

“As well the sustainability conscious values of this campaign align with our focus moving forward – a perfect partnership.”

Marking the beginning of a new journey for Stan Smith, adidas has committed one of its longest standing and most successful silhouettes to creating a more sustainable future.

A new touchstone in the brand’s journey to help end plastic waste, the sustainable Stan Smith utilises 17 plastic bottles in each pair of shoes, with no compromise to the iconic look.
