Pride In Print 2021

AUCKLAND, Friday: Horton Media, Mindfood, McHugh Media, Admark, and Soar Print were among the winners at the Pride in Print Awards 2021, held at the Cordis.

Horton won in the Newspaper category for The Greenhouse. The judges said: “A serious effort has been put in to get this job this sharp. The degree of difficulty here is a 9 out of 10.”

Blue Star Constellation’s Mindfood portfolio won the Publications category. The judges said: “”The punchy colours and excellent colour management on a difficult stock has made this job a fitting category winner.”

Soar Print won in the Print Finishing category for a Laminex timber veneer brochure. The judges said: “Produced with lots of processes and no mistakes or blemishes, this is an exceptional finishing job.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this one; it’s technically brilliant.”

And Admark Visual Imaging won in the Sign & Display category for a Hamilton Beer & Wine Co van wrap. The judges: “With eye popping colour this is an exceptional example of wide format print and vehicle wrapping – the printer has got everything right”

But the work that really caught the judges’ eye was Rapid Labels’ McBride Sisters Sparkling Brut Rose, which took out the Labels category.

The judges described it as one of the best ever wine labels seen in the Pride In Print Awards’ 28-year history.

Pride In Print judge Gary Gibbon said that over the years he had seen some fantastic labels entered, “but I’ve never seen anything like this one; it’s definitely one of the best labels produced. It’s technically brilliant.”
