Kiwis turn to NZ Herald in record numbers

NZME-owned NZ Herald has seen its daily website sessions consistently remain above 3 million* since the lockdown started last Tuesday.

These record numbers peeked with more than 3.7 million sessions on both Wednesday and Friday last week, and total page views on each of those days of more than 11 million. In addition, the New Zealand Herald had 1.4 million App launches on Wednesday, a 127 percent increase compared to July’s average. 

NZME tells StopPress that the NZ Herald audience spikes at 1pm – with the announcement of latest cases and other developments – and other big spikes between 8am and 9am and 7pm and 8pm.

The NZ Herald is the country’s biggest and most popular news website – a position it has held for the past 12 months.

nzherald.co.nz was named in the 2020 Colmar Brunton Corporate Reputation Index for companies spontaneously mentioned for initiatives that impressed New Zealanders during the Covid outbreak – providing useful advice, information and encouragement.
