DDB Aotearoa NZ has further strengthened its team with the appointment of Jack Murphy, one of New Zealand’s leading young strategists, to the role of Strategy Director.
Murphy, who began his career at DDB 10 years ago, brings his diverse skill set home after a two-year stint at Ireland’s largest independent agency, Boys + Girls. He has extensive experience working across leading global and local clients, including Westpac NZ, telecommunications company Three Ireland and energy supplier, Energia.
DDB Aotearoa Chief Strategy Officer, Rupert Price, says Marphy’s return is a huge win for DDB Aotearoa and his experience is highly valued.
“It’s always great to welcome familiar faces back to the fold and we’re so excited to have Jack with us again here at DDB Aotearoa – he’s got an incredibly bright, creative mind balanced with strategic rigour which he’s finely tuned during his previous years at DDB and most recent experience in Ireland.
“We’re committed to delivering standout work and driving results for our clients which is why we continue to invest in top talent like Jack. It also helps that he’s an all-round great guy.”
Murphy says he’s excited to be back in one of the most exciting and creative markets in the world and among world-class talent.
“DDB has always been my spiritual home and it felt like the perfect time to come back. There is a real sense of momentum here, not just from new account wins but also at an organisational Group level which is inspiring.
“That belief in our ability to create world class work from the bottom of the South Pacific is unwavering and it runs through the whole Group. I also love that are still so many old faces here, which says a lot about the culture at DDB Aotearoa – they’re just a bunch of talented, nice people and it’s great to be among them again.”
