Entries are now open for the 2022 Outstanding Radio Creative Awards (ORCA).
ORCA is an annual competition to find and celebrate the most effective audio creative on New Zealand commercial radio stations and associated streaming platforms.
This year there are two categories:
- Standard Campaign: 15-60 second on air spots
- Non-Standard Campaign: Alternative lengths, additional products e.g. adlets, announcer reads, traffic products, podcasts etc
There will be a Grand ORCA awarded for each category, and one overall People’s Choice Award:
- The Grand ORCA: $ 5000 Cash Prize & $ 5000 Radio Schedule (Rate Card)
- People’s Choice Award: $ 2000 Cash Prize & $ 2000 Radio Schedule (Rate Card)
TRB General Manager, Peter Richardson says: “As the New Zealand audio industry continues to grow and diversify, so too do the exceptional campaigns being created by local agencies. Our 2021 Grand ORCA winning campaign, FCB and PAK’nSAVE’s ‘Meat Hijack’ would have fitted into the Non-Standard Campaign category and I think we were all impressed by the innovation it exemplified. We look forward to hearing the entries in both of our new categories this year.”
For the first time in recent years, ORCA will be judged on a campaign basis rather than individual audio. Judging is based four criteria: creativity, execution, effectiveness, and innovation.
The competition is open to agency and independent creatives who have had a campaign on air between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
Entries close on June 30, 2022 at 5pm. Click here to enter.
