dentsu Aotearoa announces Anne Boothroyd as new ECD

dentsu Aotearoa has announced the appointment of Anne Boothroyd as new Executive Creative Director, joining dentsu Creative from YoungShand.

Boothroyd will lead the creative department working with existing award-winning Creative Directors Brad Stratton and Rob Longuet and the teams, further building the creative firepower of dentsu Aotearoa.

“Anne is a fierce thinker and a powerful voice for creativity. She shifts the dial with her work and we will shift the dial as a result. She’s a fabulous role model for the industry at large,” says Kirsty Muddle, Chief Executive Office of dentsu Creative Australia.

Boothroyd has extensive experience as a leader in both independent and network agencies. Most recently, Anne was instrumental in the transformation of YoungShand, where she successfully helped broaden their offering from a digital marketing agency into a broader range of brand and comms work.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the dentsu team to help shape the next chapter of the agency’s story in Aotearoa. I look forward to working alongside Murray, dentsu’s talented integrated team and our client partners to deliver bold creative solutions that sit at the heart of any true business and societal progress,” says Boothroyd.

She was also recently recognised as one of Campaign Asia’s 40 Women to Watch in 2021 and has been recognised over 100 times at international and local award shows. Recent accolades include a D&AD Wood Pencil and a Gold Caples for ‘Quit For Your Pets’ and the coveted For Good Award for ‘Unseen Emergencies’ at the 2022 Axis Awards.

“I’m relishing the opportunity to lead our creative business with Anne. Anne is both a strong creative leader and a wonderful human. I’m excited about demonstrating to clients and the market the meaningful progress we can continue to deliver for them under her leadership of our digital, content and advertising teams,” says Murray Streets, Managing Director of dentsu Creative Aotearoa.
