SYDNEY, Friday: The Aussies handed out no top gongs to NZ work at Friday’s AWARD Awards – even Special Auckland’s David’s Unuseables, which has been winning Golds and Best in Shows hand over fist in London & New York, could manage only a Bronze in Sydney.
New Zealand has scored eight Silver Pencils and 12 Bronzes Pencils led by Special New Zealand with two Silver Pencils and a Bronze for David, and a Bronze for Kathmandu Summer. Finally.
Ruskin scored a Silver for Bank of NZ The Dancer. Silver Pencils also went to FCB NZ for Fire & Emergency NZ Firefighters Don’t Like Fire Movies and eight for Lotto Imagine on Ice.

Assembly picked up three Bronze Pencils for NRMA A Fire Inside and NZ Trade & Enterprise Dubai Expo – NZ Pavilion, whilst TBWA\NZ as scored two Bronze Pencils for Melanoma NZ The Melanoma Typeface.
Scoring one Bronze Pencil each was VMLY&R NZ for NZ Earthquake Commission Earthquake Triggered and Blockhead VFX for IAG Rollin’.
There were four NZ judges at AWARD – The Monkeys Damon Stapleton (Sound chair), Special’s Lisa Fedyszyn (Digital), Colenso’s Maria Devereux (Impact chair), Haylie Craig (Life-Changing), and consultant Lucinda Sherborne (Strategy).
