MetroEXP unveils Wendy’s Limited Edition Hot Honey Range

AUCKLAND, Monday: Westhaven-based design agency MetroEXP has unveiled Sticky Situations – a new Wendy’s campaign, touting its “deliciously sweet and spicy, limited-time” Hot Honey Burger range via an integrated campaign.

MetroEXP senior business manager Kimberley Warren said: “With consumer demand for hot honey menus growing by 187% between 2016 and 2022, Wendy’s recently introduced the Hot Honey range to its Limited Time Offerings menu in New Zealand.

“The campaign highlights Wendy’s new Hot Honey range as the right type of sticky situation to find yourself in – as opposed to deciding between an upcoming Warriors game or your wedding anniversary.

“It’s always a pleasure working with a brand like Wendy’s, which combines a strong sense of fun with a quality offering.”


“Launched this week, the campaign will run across OOH, digital and social, for six weeks.”


Wendy’s ceo Danielle Lendich said: “After great success overseas, we’re excited to bring our own unique rendition of the Hot Honey range to New Zealand with the creative powers of MetroEXP.

“Made right here in New Zealand, our signature hot honey sauces complement our beef and chicken burgers, combining the perfect balance of heat and sweetness without being overpowering, so we’re confident the Hot Honey range will become a crowd favourite in no time at all.”

MetroEXP managing partner Penny Wolhuter said: “We’re excited to see Wendy’s first LTO of 2023 out in the market.

Launched this week, the campaign will run across OOH, digital and social, for six weeks.
