Following a series of competitive pitches, Motion Sickness has successfully expanded its client roster by welcoming Sorted (Te Ara Ahunga Ora Retirement Commission) on board as well as securing a position on the creative agency panel of the Auckland Council Group, which comprises Auckland Transport, Auckland Council, and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited.
“At Sorted we’re on a mission to help people make the most of their money today, so they can enjoy a better retirement tomorrow,” says Vanessa Morris, Director of Marketing.
“We wanted a new agency partner that could help us on that mission and create work that will drive behaviour change. We were impressed with the thinking and experience Motion Sickness brought to the table. We are confident they are the right partner to take us forward, and will bring a fresh approach to the Sorted brand. The award-winning work they had done with Netsafe and Fire and Emergency NZ demonstrated their disruptive approach to connecting with our youth and Māori audiences and we look forward to working with the team.”
After a successful awards season, taking out 15 wins at Axis, including gold for their work with Fire and Emergency New Zealand, Motion Sickness has also made a number of new hires including welcoming Chelsea Knowles onto its strategy team.
“I knew there was something different going on at Motion Sickness, so I was stoked when I got the opportunity to go behind the scenes. So far I’ve found a whole lot of great people, exceptional brands, and a real ambition to make meaningful change,” says Knowles.
The agency has also brought Schumacher Leona, (Hakupu/Tuapa), on board as a Junior Creative.
“I visited Motion Sickness last year for uni and I thought their work was sweet. Being a part of them now, with the briefs I’m working on, I’d say it’s lived up to the hype and I’m excited to do big things here.”
While Joe Fraei joins the client services department as Senior Account Manager who says after observing the work emerging from Motion Sickness he is “thrilled to be joining the team”.

Motion Sickness GM Alex McManus says the agency has big plans for the next year around working with brands that want to think differently.
“We have a great group of clients that are continuously asking us to push the boundaries – and with some talented humans joining the team, our door is always open for the next challenge.”
