PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday: “The last thing a conference organiser wants these days is to be accused of wasting money on a big budget trip to some bazillion dollar venue with a view of the mountains,” reckons Vaughn Davis, CD at Karangahape Road indie The Goat Farm.
Palmerston North’s council-owned conference and events venue operator, Palmy Venues, believe its conference packages stand up to even the closest scrutiny, so tapped TGF and media partner Sneakers to tell the world about it.
The result, Palmy Venues – home of your next bloody good conference – launched last week at national conference organisers’ event Meetings 2023.
“We spent an excellent couple of days in Palmy seeing the venues, then used the TGF research room to meet conference organisers face to face.”
Targeted social media, display advertising on MetService, digital billboards at Wellington Airport and point-of-sale material at the conference expo made Palmy’s message hard to miss, driving volumes of enquiry and requests for quotes.
Marketing manager Jessica Papple says the campaign captured the tone of the brand perfectly. “From the idea to the execution we’ve ended up with a campaign we’re proud of, that prospects are telling us they love and that’s already driving business,” she said. “Bloody good!”
Davis says the campaign was built on solid research and sound insights. “We spent an excellent couple of days in Palmy seeing the venues, then used the TGF research room to meet conference organisers face to face.
“We can’t wait to take this to the next step”
