Rosie Herdman finds Common Ground

New Zealand PR agency Common Ground PR has gone from the power of one to two as ex-Broadsheet Editor Rosie Herdman joins founder Olivia Boswell at the company.

Herdman comes to PR with a wealth of experience as an editor and journalist at leading lifestyle publications Broadsheet, Viva Magazine and Denizen. She comes on board to Common Ground PR as a Public Relations Specialist.

Boswell says Herdman is the perfect fit for the agency on its growth journey.

“Rosie is a highly respected operator and just what I was looking for in my first hire at Common Ground as we start to build the team. Her deep understanding of the New Zealand media landscape, beautiful writing style and relaxed yet professional approach lends itself well to the world of PR,” she says.

Herdman is excited about the opportunity of developing a new skill that will build from her journalism experience.

“I’ve worked with a lot of PRs in my time, so I’m enjoying delving in from the other side and being able to offer meaningful stories to journalists which they actually want to tell,” she says.

Founded in 2020 by Boswell, Common Ground PR is known for its down-to-earth approach that gets results.

Clients such as the Women’s Rugby World Cup, Boring Oat Milk, New Zealand Story, Ārepa, Goldie, Dracula’s Caberet, ManukaRx, Coffee Supreme, TWYG, Almighty Beverages, Anew, Auckland Art Gallery and Gus Fisher Gallery have trusted the boutique agency to manage their PR and tell their stories.

“Common Ground may be small but we punch well above our weight in terms of what we achieve for our clients. I’m excited to up the ante even more now with the arrival of Rosie,” says Boswell.

Boswell previously primarily managed as a team of one and has employed contractors for big jobs when required. Now, she and Herdman will work across all clients.
