Kathmandu taps Motion Sickness as new creative agency

AUCKLAND, Today: Kathmandu has chosen Motion Sickness as their creative agency of record after a tough competition across Australasia. The outdoor retailer from Aotearoa is looking to refresh its brand and expand globally.

“We built Motion Sickness to help brands grow by doing the best creative work in the world. Kathmandu feels like an exciting next step for our journey, and for us, theirs,” says Sam Stuchbury, ECD/Founder at Motion Sickness.

“Throughout the pitch process, we really connected with the Kathmandu team and saw their vision up close. The global outdoor market is bustling with opportunities. We’re thrilled to take Kathmandu to new heights from right here in Aotearoa,” shares Jo O’Sullivan, Chief Marketing Officer at Kathmandu.

“This is the start of a fresh adventure for Kathmandu. It’s a homecoming, back to the great outdoors of Aotearoa, where our company was born.”

“Motion Sickness understands the New Zealand story deeply and has a unique ability to rejuvenate local brands. Kathmandu is already a well-known name, but with this partnership, we’re poised to soar even higher.”

Motion Sickness has had a standout year, adding Big Save Furniture, Hato Hone St John, and Sorted NZ to their client list.

The partnership is already in motion, with plans for a revitalised brand campaign for Kathmandu set to launch in late 2024.
