Pure 360 takes over trio of business titles

The business titles, which have a long history (NZBusiness was founded in 1938 and Management in 1955), will operate under Pure 360, an independent company within Conway’s Pure SEO group.

Conway has a passion for helping businesses scale through innovative approaches to digital marketing, and he is drawing on this know-how to help transition the magazines to a digital-first approach.

“Following a tough few years, the magazines needed investment to ensure that they survive as digital-first publications. NZBusiness magazine helped inspire me when I started my business journey, and I believe that it still has that same relevance to other entrepreneurs,” says Conway, CEO of Pure 360.

“I think New Zealand needs publications that share real success stories and experiences in a positive manner.”

Under the ownership of Pure 360, the magazines will continue to produce premium content across digital, social, print and event channels, sharing real and relatable business stories of success.

With a digital-first approach, the team is doubling-down on online content and looking to expand the publications’ video and audio offerings to reach business owners and leaders looking to fuel their entrepreneurial spirit and scale their operations.

Cathy Parker, publisher at Adrenalin Publishing, says: “We are very pleased that the titles have found a new home that can continue their strong tradition and drive them forward in the new digital world.”

To help bring this new vision to life, David Nothling-Demmer has been appointed as managing editor working across all three publications.

With over a decade of experience in publishing both print and digital magazines, Nothling-Demmer joins Pure 360 following a four-year stint at SCG Media where he was editorial director – Business, overseeing the strategic and editorial direction of publications including NZ Marketing magazine, StopPress, Farmlander and others.

“I’m excited to join these well-respected, legacy publications as we work to reimagine them for future generations of readers. This, while maintaining the long tradition of business journalism that’s become a staple for the country’s small business community over the years. It’s about offering our readers a good mix of new and traditional channels to engage with our stories,” says Nothling-Demmer.

Leanne Moss and Annie Gray will continue with their roles as commercial business manager and editor of Management magazine, respectively. Longtime editor of NZBusiness magazine Glenn Baker has semi-retired and will continue to contribute to the publications as a writer.

“I am proud to be the current custodian of these titles and feel it is a real coup for us to have secured someone of David’s calibre and experience to run them,” adds Conway.
