AUCKLAND, Today: Following last year’s smash hit, Day in Loo, Radio Hauraki proudly presents Day in Loo Number 2. Teaming up with Bowel Cancer New Zealand and Cotton Softs, this event raises awareness and funds for Bowel Cancer NZ.
Join us at The Empire Tavern on Wednesday, June 26, for 12 hours of laughs from the dunny. Enjoy performances from top Kiwi comedians like Dai Henwood, Hayley Sproull, Mel Bracewell, Tony Lyall, Tom Sainsbury, and Tim Batt.
Matt Heath, Radio Hauraki Breakfast Host, shares that Day in Loo Number 2 supports Bowel Cancer New Zealand’s incredible work in assisting those living with bowel cancer and their families.
“When Dai bravely shared his battle with stage four bowel cancer last year, it inspired us all to support this cause. I’m thrilled to be joined by my fellow Radio Hauraki hosts to support Dai Henwood and raise funds for a cause that’s close to our hearts.”
“This year, our mission is to flush out a massive pile of cash for Bowel Cancer New Zealand. Swing by The Empire or tune in, and send in your best gags via the iHeartRadio Talkback function to keep the laughs rolling for 12 hours straight!”
“This kind of awareness is crucial, and it’s why we started this event. I’m looking forward to being back with the Radio Hauraki team and Bowel Cancer New Zealand for ‘Day in Loo Number 2′.” – Dai Henwood
Reflecting on last year’s event, comedian Dai Henwood says: “I’ve had several people reach out since our first Day in Loo, telling me they got checked and caught cancerous cells early.
“This kind of awareness is crucial, and it’s why we started this event. I’m looking forward to being back with the Radio Hauraki team and Bowel Cancer New Zealand for Day in Loo Number 2,” Dai explained.
Rebekah Heal, General Manager of Bowel Cancer NZ, says, “We’re thrilled to have the team back for Day in Loo Number 2. This event not only helps wipe away some of the stigma around talking about something so personal, but it also has the potential to save lives.
“Bowel cancer is curable in over 90% of cases if caught early, so we need everyone to know the symptoms and get checked if they have concerns. Early detection is the best prevention!”
Day in Loo Number 2 kicks off on Wednesday, June 26, from 6am to 6pm at The Empire Tavern, 137 Victoria Street West, Auckland CBD. Tune in on Radio Hauraki frequencies or live on iHeartRadio.
