AUCKLAND, Today: Bastion Shine and Cure Kids have revamped the iconic Red Nose Day campaign with a fun twist to raise crucial funds for child health research.
The campaign kicked off with a video featuring beloved Kiwi comedian Chris Parker.
Due to environmental concerns, Cure Kids has retired the traditional red foam noses. Instead, Bastion Shine created the Go Red for Red Nose Day challenge. A bit of embarrassment for a great cause!
The month-long campaign uses out-of-home, PR, and social media to encourage participants to take on or support embarrassing challenges, turning every Go Red moment into donations for Cure Kids.
“We love the fun and comedic nature of this new theme. It’s a great feeling knowing we can put a smile on people’s faces, all while supporting research projects that address some of the most important issues facing our tamariki.” – Maria Hutcheson
Notable Kiwis like NZ Warriors legend Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and radio hosts Jono Pryor and Boyce are joining in with their own challenges.
Rich Maddocks, Bastion Shine’s Chief Creative Officer, said, “We’re confident we’ve struck the right balance of injecting a new spin on such an iconic property. These things build over time, but we’re thrilled by the initial support we’ve received for the Go Red idea.”
Maria Hutcheson, Head of Marketing for Cure Kids, added, “We love the fun and comedic nature of this new theme. It’s a great feeling knowing we can put a smile on people’s faces, all while supporting research projects that address some of the most important issues facing our tamariki.”
Go Red for Red Nose Day runs from July 1 to 31, with Red Nose Day itself on July 5. Cure Kids’ Red Nose Day is also the official charity partner of NZCreatorCon, supported by Meta and TikTok.
