The 2024 Paris Paralympics live coverage kicked off on TVNZ on August 29 and millions of Kiwis tuned in to follow Aotearoa’s incredible athletes in action.
Nearly 1.7 million Kiwis watched coverage on TVNZ 1 in the first five days of the games.
On TVNZ+ it has quickly risen to top the charts for both reach and streams, with more than 166K unique profiles have generated 625K streams since the event kicked off.
TVNZ’s CEO Jodi O’Donnell says, “I’ve been loving watching our Kiwi Paralympians in action and it’s fantastic to see New Zealanders are turning out in droves to catch them on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+. The appetite for live and free sports is clear, with close to 1.7million Kiwis tuning in on TVNZ 1, and over 750,000 streams on TVNZ+, in just the first five days. I’m really proud of our team and the extensive, must-watch coverage we’re delivering of the Paralympic Games to Aotearoa.”

TVNZ expects these numbers to continue climbing until the games end on 8 September.
