Learn how to get the most of digital audio with IAB NZ

To provide best practices and ways to drive continued growth in the world of digital audio, the IAB New Zealand Audio Working Group is inviting the industry to its ‘Hit Play’ event next week.

Digital Audio is one of the fastest-growing markets in New Zealand media delivering an increase in digital advertising revenue of 34.5%* year-on-year.

Hit Play will be held on October 17 from 3pm to 6pm at the Mediaworks rova pavilion in Auckland Central. Attendees will hear from experts in the field as well as hear the findings from the fourth annual IAB New Zealand Evolution of Digital Audio Survey.

These results will be presented by Ryan Bridge, journalist and new host of Newstalk ZB’s Early Edition and fellow journalist Francesca Rudkin, who hosts the radio station’s The Sunday Session, providing insights into digital audio buyer behaviours and intentions.

The line up of speakers also includes Karla Byrne Head of Brand & Personal Markets at enable.me who recently launched the rova podcast ‘Where’s My Money?, Duncan Garner journalist, speaker, and host of the popular MediaWorks Editor-in-Chief live podcast, Brodie Kane journalist, and well-known podcast host and producer, Alistair Jamison CEO of The Radio Bureau, and Heidi Thompson Head of Client Services DRUM.

Angelina Farry, IAB New Zealand CEO says, “Digital audio is in an exciting growth phase – this year’s Evolution of Digital Audio Survey revealed that 93% of agencies have used digital audio streaming in the last 12 months, and 83% have used podcast advertising, with brand building and engagement being the key drivers.”

The survey also shows that almost 60% of respondents are planning to invest more in Digital Audio over the next 12 months, with a focus on bundling it with other media opportunities, and programmatic guaranteed deals.

Kate Grigg, Chair of the IAB New Zealand Audio Working Group and Head of Publicis Media Group NZ says, “Connecting with highly engaged audiences makes digital audio a key way to enhance other media channels. We’re observing that streaming digital audio and podcasting are increasingly becoming an important part of media planning.”

To find out more about the growth in Digital Audio, IAB New Zealand Members and Non-Members can register for the upcoming IAB New Zealand ‘Digital Audio: Hit Play’ Event on Thursday 17 October.

This event is sponsored by MediaWorks and tickets are limited.
