Animates lights up a paws-itive change by ditching fireworks

AUCKLAND, Today: Animates, Insiders, and Hearts & Science have launched a new initiative, giving pet lovers the chance to sign a petition to ban public fireworks sales—pets can even sign with their pawprint!

Animates’ goal is to make the world happier through pets. Teaming up with Insiders, they’ve consistently delivered on the We make happy, happen platform.

Nathalie Moolenschot, GM Marketing at Animates, shared, “Over a wine a few months back we challenged the Insiders team to step outside of our planned brand and retail activity and come back with ideas to deliver ‘happy’ in a big, tangible way. What they came back with, got us seriously excited.”

Craig Whitehead, Chief Creative Partner at Insiders, said, “We’re all pet parents at Insiders, so our starting point was drawing on experiences that were preventing our pets from being happy. Guy Fawkes is still terrorising pets every year. This was the perfect opportunity for Animates to live and breathe their purpose.”

The Pawprint Petition encourages pet parents to sign, and even lets pets sign too by creating a pawprint graphic using AI.

Sarah Sleeman, Senior Marketing Manager at Animates, remarked, “What we love most about this idea is that we’re giving pets a voice on a subject that directly affects them. We’re really hoping New Zealand gets behind The Pawprint Petition, we can get this law changed, and return a bit of happy to pets every November.”

The campaign will roll out across Digital, Social, PR, TV, Radio, OOH, and Press over the coming weeks.
