AUCKLAND, Today: TVNZ has unveiled changes to its Executive team as it gears up for a fresh leadership structure, set to roll out in early 2025.
Chief Operating Officer Brent McAnulty will step into the Acting Chief News and Content Officer role from February. This temporary position gives TVNZ time to recruit for the newly created Executive role. Once the role is filled, Brent will be leaving TVNZ.
Brent has been with the organisation for 15 years, starting as General Counsel before taking on Legal and Corporate Affairs. He served as interim CEO in 2023 and has been COO since January. His extensive experience will guide the News and Content teams as this new business area takes shape.
“Brent has been a key member of TVNZ’s Executive team. His leadership and commitment over the past 15 years has been invaluable and he will be deeply missed by the TVNZ whānau when he leaves the business.” – Jodi O’Donnell
CEO Jodi O’Donnell shared, “Brent has been a key member of TVNZ’s Executive team. His leadership and commitment over the past 15 years has been invaluable and he will be deeply missed by the TVNZ whānau when he leaves the business.
On a personal note, Brent has been a great support to me, and I wish him the very best for his future.”
Acting Chief Financial Officer Liz O’Neil will also extend her Executive tenure. When CFO Tracey Richardson returns from parental leave in February 2025, Liz will step into the Acting COO role while a permanent hire is sought.
The recruitment process for these Executive positions is set to begin early next year.
