Colenso wins big at ONE Asia

SHANGHAI, Today: Colenso BBDO Auckland was a top winner in the 2024 ONE Asia Creative Awards, taking home Best of Show, three Best of Disciplines, and four Gold awards.  

Colenso BBDO Auckland, working with Nexus Studios London, was awarded this year’s Best of Show for “Adoptable. By PEDIGREE.” on behalf of Mars.  The work also won Best of Discipline honors in Creative Use of Technology, Direct Marketing, and Out of Home & Out of Home Craft, and four Golds (in the above disciplines, two in OOH).  It was the only winner from New Zealand.

CHEP Network Melbourne led all Australian agencies this year with six ONE Asia award wins.  They included two Golds for “Climate Doctor’s Certificate” on behalf of School Strike 4 Climate, one in Public Relations, Integrated/Omnichannel PR Campaign, and the other in Integrated/Omnichannel, Campaigns for Good.  The agency also picked up a Silver and three Bronze awards for the work.

Australia’s other Golds were won by The Monkeys Sydney, which took home two for “Play It Safe” on behalf of Sydney Opera House.  One Gold was in Branded Entertainment, Branded Long-Form Video, and the other was in Moving Image/Sound Craft & Production, Original Music.

This year’s ONE Asia Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) award, created in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Partnerships and nonprofit PVBLIC Foundation to reward agencies and brands for work that betters the world and contributes to securing a sustainable future for all, went to:

  • Dentsu Digital Inc. Tokyo with Platinum, Inc. Tokyo and Taiyo Kikaku Co. Ltd. Tokyo “SATO 2531” for Asuniwa/Think Name Project 
  • Leo Burnett Taiwan Taipei with Digitas Taiwan Taipei, Fugu Fish Creations Taipei and Starcom Taiwan Taipei, “Hear My Last Wish” for Taiwan Organ Sharing Registry and Patient Autonomy Promotion Center

A total of 29 Gold, 32 Silver, 45 Bronze, and 51 Merits were awarded this year to agencies and brands in 13 countries and regions across APAC.  The complete list of ONE Asia 2024 winners can be viewed here.  

In-person judging for ONE Asia 2024 took place in October in Manila, marking the first time it was held outside of China.  By rotating the judging location each year, the show aims to showcase and appreciate the unique cultural contributions of each country, highlight the exceptional work being done there, and strengthen the bonds within the local creative community.

“ONE Asia has established itself as the premiere awards for the region because it’s about more than just recognition. It’s about celebrating the vast range of creative excellence that spans APAC,” said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club. “It’s a testament to the incredible talent, innovation, and cultural depth that thrives in the region.”

Regional and global rankings

Winning agencies, brands, production companies, and individuals are included in the ONE Asia Creative Rankings, to be announced shortly.  

ONE Asia winners are also included in The One Club’s Global Creative Rankings, to be announced in early January 2025.  That comprehensive ranking combines points won at The One Show, ADC Annual Awards, Type Directors Club TDC awards, Art Directors Club of Europe (ADCE) Awards, and ONE Asia Creative Awards.  Winners are ranked globally, regionally and by country.
