The Goat Farm gets into the pilot’s seat with Auckland Pilot Training Group

Karangahape Road advertising agency The Goat Farm has been appointed to manage insights, PR and media relations for aviation training provider Auckland Pilot Training Group.

APTG is New Zealand’s biggest pilot training organisation and operates campuses and aircraft fleets at both North Shore and Ardmore Airports.

APTG Southern Campus CEO Irene King says The Goat Farm was an obvious choice.

“We’ve got important stories to tell as the sector faces regulatory and financial challenges to meet the huge demand for commercial pilots. TGF combines strength in brand and storytelling with great connections into editorial media.”

It probably didn’t hurt that TGF founder and creative director Vaughn Davis is (and the agency says it stands to be corrected on this point) New Zealand’s only agency owner to hold an airline pilot’s licence, instructor rating and aerobatic display flying qualification.

“I loved my aviation career and wish that more rangatahi could see it as an option for them,” he says.

“Our work with APTG will be all about removing barriers and making it possible for more people to get into the pilot’s seat.”

As well as, supporting APTG’s launch in February, TGF has recently conceived and produced the State of the Flight Deck survey, giving Kiwis a glimpse into life as a commercial pilot in 2024.
