AUCKLAND, Today: The 2025 AXIS AWARDS Creative Council, led by Convenor Gary Steele and Jury Directors Bex Kelly and Leisa Wall, has introduced this year’s Jury Presidents. They’ve highlighted the judges’ extensive expertise in their respective categories, ensuring a focused and expert judging process.
Each president and judge has been selected for their long-standing creative achievements and specific category knowledge.
This year’s nine Jury Presidents will oversee the following categories:
- Craft in Film: Production | Sharlene George – Sweetshop
- Craft in Film: Post-Production | Bex Kelly – Finch
- Audio | Peter Vegas – FCB Aotearoa
- Visual, Design & Art Direction | Kristal Knight – Ogilvy NZ
- Digital & Social Media | Shane Bradnick – TBWA\ New Zealand
- Print, Out of Home & Copywriting | Melina Fiolitakis – Motion Sickness
- Retail, Direct & Integrated | Rory McKechnie – DDB Aotearoa
- Film & Branded Content | Brigid Alkema – Clemenger UnLtd
- Media, PR & For Good | Jonathan McMahon – Special Group
The Craft juries, in particular, will benefit from a deeper pool of specialists who will apply their refined expertise to this year’s entries.
“Our goal is to make AXIS mean more,” stated Gary Steele. “The selection of Jury Presidents is the first step towards a refreshed judging process that will ensure that winning an AXIS is a true endorsement of the very best work that Aotearoa has produced in the last 12 months.”
