AUCKLAND, Yesterday: KFC’s Zing Air took its first official flight over the weekend, delivering lucky Kiwis from Auckland to Wellington for an unforgettable rugby experience.
Zing Air, a world-first private airline service by KFC, flew fans to Sky Stadium to watch the Blues take on the Hurricanes in style.
From check-in to arrival, passengers were treated to the Colonel’s signature touch. A private lounge in Auckland was decked out with red-and-white floral arrangements in KFC buckets, branded pillows, and plenty of crispy chicken.
Guests strolled down a KFC-striped runway to board, greeted by smiling cabin crew. Once settled, they enjoyed light refreshments and beverages as they soared to new heights—literally.

On arrival in Wellington, a private car whisked them to their luxury hotel before heading to Sky Stadium for front-row seats to the Hurricanes Poua vs Blues Women’s match and the highly anticipated Hurricanes vs Blues game.
The next morning, after a delicious breakfast, the winners were chauffeured back to Wellington Airport to board their return flight to Auckland.
Leanne Too, KFC Marketing Director, said, “We’re thrilled that Zing Air has finally taken flight with our first winners over the weekend and can’t wait to continue to build on this momentum throughout the season.”
She added, “KFC has been bringing Kiwis together for years, but this is a new way to fly and enjoy a couple of Kiwi’s favourite pastimes, rugby and chicken.”
Four more flights will take off throughout the Super Rugby season, giving more fans across New Zealand the chance to board KFC Zing Air and cheer on their team.
