oOh! adds Hamilton and extends Wellington partnership

AUCKLAND, Today: oOh!media is growing its street furniture footprint, securing the Hamilton City Council contract while extending its established partnership with Wellington City Council.

The long-term agreements will see oOh! continue managing and investing in public infrastructure, including refurbished bus shelters and digital upgrades designed to benefit communities, councils and advertisers.

In Wellington, additional digital panels will be installed to meet current and future demand, while existing LCD panels will be replaced with premium, more sustainable LED technology.

Hamilton’s existing LCD panels will also be upgraded to LED, creating a more consistent and higher-quality digital offering throughout the city.

The agreements follow oOh!’s Christchurch City Council win earlier this year, linking three major markets within its growing national street furniture network.

Across street and retail locations in 17 regions, oOh!’s broader network now reaches 87% of New Zealanders each month.

The shift to LED delivers a considerable sustainability win, with the screens using around 60% less energy than traditional LCD displays. They also require less maintenance, last longer and help councils reduce waste.

Advertisers will gain more opportunities to reach Wellington audiences, where 19.1% of commuters use public transport — the highest proportion nationally.

Hamilton brings a different kind of opportunity. With an estimated population of 190,000, it remains one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing cities.

oOh!media Head of NZ Kelly Harvey said the agreements reflected strong council relationships and a shared commitment to quality public infrastructure.

“Hamilton and Wellington are key markets for oOh! and brands. These agreements reflect the strength of the partnerships we have built with both councils and our shared commitment to delivering high-quality public infrastructure.

These long-term agreements allow us to continue to invest in premium street furniture and digital assets, and build a stronger, more connected network that delivers value for councils, communities and advertisers alike.”

The deals continue oOh!’s investment in digital capability and network improvements, while positioning the business to deliver lasting value for council partners, local communities and advertisers across New Zealand.
