Kiwis love to support local more than ever – and it’s showing. More New Zealanders are buying magazines and engaging more deeply with publications, according to recent Nielsen results and a retail distribution report.
Ovato Retail, New Zealand’s sole distributor of magazines to retail outlets, showed a 5.5 percent increase in sales during the last quarter of 2020 compared to the same period last year.
These numbers have proven true off the back of Remix‘s biggest issue ever with powerhouse Khloe Kardashian on the summer cover. The publication reported a hugely impressive double increase in supermarket sales.
A steadfast player in the New Zealand publishing industry for over 20 years, Remix has not only survived, but thrived during the ‘year of the pivot’. New issue The Indulgence Edition is on sale now, featuring rising star Madison Beer on the cover.
Amber Baker, Editor of Remix says: “While it’s important to acknowledge and empathise with those still struggling to navigate this ‘new world’, that doesn’t mean there can’t be moments of celebration within our own community, and within ourselves.
“That’s exactly what this special edition of Remix intends to do.”
A showcase of all things luxurious, the Indulgence Edition reflects a Carpe Diem lifestyle, celebrating everything 2021 has to offer as Kiwis leave 2020 behind.
A big believer in self-love and self-worth, cover star Beer reveals her struggles navigating the cut-throat LA music industry and the effects on her mental health.
Remix secured the New Zealand exclusive interview and remotely shot editorial photoshoot, providing a peek into Beer’s Californian life post-lockdown.
Readers can also expect exclusive sit downs with Kiwi morale booster William Waiirua, British musical maven Rita Ora, local must-know singer Niko Walters, and comedian Chris Parker.
