AUCKLAND, Wednesday: After two rounds of judging a multitude of ideas from MDS and AUT, the final ideas going forward for Axis judging in 2023 have been announced.
Two of the final four come from Media Design School’s creative teams; two from AUT.
The MDS winners were Jack Becroft & Herman Ulberg and Astrid Henare & Letitia McKenzie. AUT’s were Amie Kaufman and Max Hansen. AUT’s Dan Fastnedge” did the heavy lifting for the Axis campaign”, we were told.
MDS AdSchool programme director Kate Humphries said: “Many thanks to James Wotton and Kirsten Pearce from the Comms Council for organising the competition, and our thanks to Tolga Balabaner (creative strategist at Google Sydney) for the briefing; and Google’s Josh Reiri-Allen for organising the student briefing at Google and for being part of the judging process.
“Thanks again to the invaluable Andy Blood, who has fed back on the final work ahead of entry into the Google competition for a number of years now.”

The judges were DDB digital CE Wihan Meerholz, Colenso BBDO chief innovation officer Maria Devereux, Colenso senior creative Haylie Craig, Sam Stuchbury, Motion Sickness ECD Jordan Stent, Motion Sickness CD, and Google agency relationship manager Josh Reiri-Allen.
