GroupM bolsters team with hires, promotions

Media investment company GroupM has appointed Megan Smith as the new Managing Partner for its agency EssenceMediacom.

Smith will be responsible for the client leadership team and enhancing levels of client focus, operations and delivery across the agency.

Smith joins from Hearts & Science where she was Chief Client Officer. In her 25-year career she has also held client leadership roles at OMD and Carat. She also brings publisher-side experience having previously worked at TVNZ.

Reporting to Zac Stephenson, Managing Director, EssenceMediacom, Megan’s responsibilities will be to lead key clients and bring her wealth of experience and expertise to elevate the client leadership team, and agency as a whole.

In addition, Hannah Joseph (nee Rowley) has been promoted to Managing Partner of fellow GroupM agency Mindshare. Joseph has been Client Service Leader for Mindshare for the past two years leading the roll out of the Good Growth Proposition. Over the past 12 months she has maintained 100 percent staff retention and has successfully won and retained a number of key clients, including Unilever.

Joseph says: “I’m thrilled to take on this new role within the business. There are a lot of exciting things on the horizon for the Mindshare team and our clients, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow the agency and build our culture underpinned by our Good Growth philosophy.”
