Internet but with trees: the Goat Farm connects with Zeronet

Karangahape Road independent advertising agency The Goat Farm has been appointed to work with NZ-owned fibre internet provider Zeronet.

The win continues a strong year for TGF, following brand positioning projects for WM New Zealand and SBS Wealth.

Zeronet is a category leader in sustainability, planting five trees in New Zealand for every customer who joins, and powering its offices with its own solar electricity.

But it is also a bit smaller than some other internet providers, so TGF creative director Vaughn Davis said a humble and straightforward brand position was the way to go.

“This definitely isn’t a brand that shouts. After meeting the team and learning about Zeronet’s customers we knew that the simplest possible expression of the brand truth was the way to go.”

The first executions are in market now, all centred on Zeronet’s point of difference: “Internet, but with trees.”

The new brand platform also features a design language that draws heavily on the sticker culture popular with tech, gaming, skate and other communities – creating a flexible and efficient way to create promotional messaging for digital and other platforms.
