A new platform for openly discussing business has launched, and all Kiwi businesses are invited to join the conversation on Stuff How:To.
The platform, powered by ANZ, offers news, step-by-step guides, and a space to chat.
How:To aims to change the traditional approach to business, which often involves keeping success strategies secret. Instead, it encourages Kiwis to share ideas, collaborate, and move forward together.
Seasoned business journalist Gill South leads HOW:TO’s editorial content, with contributions from experienced journalists and industry experts.
“Whether you’re a tradie starting out on your own, the founder of a startup, the owner of a corner store, or you have an idea on a napkin, How:To is here to support you,” says South.
“It’s an online space where every ‘why’ has a ‘how’. Readers will find open forums to ask and answer questions that matter to small businesses like their own. The platform also features thought leadership articles, allowing users to learn from the best in the business.”
Stuff Group’s commitment to supporting Kiwi businesses is behind its delivery of How:To as a useful business platform which will drive deep audience engagement and get people talking.
Owner and Publisher Sinead Boucher, who bought Stuff from its Australian owners in 2020, says it has been a truly collaborative process with ANZ.
“As an independent business owner myself I know about the challenges and hard work that goes into every business success.
“Owning your own business can also be isolating at times – I’m so pleased that together we were able to create a space where ideas, inspiration and great business conversations can be shared,” says Boucher.
Seeing New Zealand businesses grow from ideas to success stories is a key focus for ANZ, which has powered the creation of How:To. ANZ’s Managing Director of Business and Agri, Lorraine Mapu, says, “We know firsthand from our close relationships with business customers that the first few years are critical. It takes a lot of courage and resourcefulness in those early days, but support and knowledge are also important.”
“We are proud to back this new platform and confident that How:To can be the place where those in business find answers to their questions, stories that inspire, and insights that contribute to their success. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy; when they do well, the whole country benefits,” adds Mapu.
How:To was designed and developed by technology and creative studio Daylight. “It’s great to see ANZ continuing to support small businesses in Aotearoa, helping them become more resilient. Bringing together the values of Stuff and ANZ has been an exciting creative journey for the team, shaping a dynamic identity and digital experience that truly reflects the energy of our business community,” says Lee Lowndes, CEO of Daylight.
Sinead Boucher hosted a panel discussion to launch How:To, featuring Lisa King of Eat My Lunch and AF Drinks, Paddy Gower of Believer Media, and Latesha Hearth of Raglan Food Co, where they discussed the ups and downs of starting a business.
