The Goat Farm discloses ownership structure in interests of complete transparency

In light of recent ad industry holding company news, Karangahape Road indie The Goat Farm has chosen to disclose its ownership structure in an ad launched on LinkedIn and Facebook.

TGF creative director and owner Vaughn Davis says news reports about the concentration of New Zealand ad agency ownership by dwindling numbers of overseas holding companies encouraged him to make a point about the importance of locally owned, independent agencies.

The tongue-in-cheek ad shows TGF’s not-so-complicated 13-year ownership history and goes
on to say: “As the owner of a successful New Zealand ad agency, I’m often asked about our ownership
structure and ultimate holding company.”

“To be honest, I understand why people are hungry for information. I get it. Every time I have lunch on Sir Martin Sorrell’s yacht it gets tongues wagging. So in the interest of complete transparency we’ve decided to open our books and reveal for the first time the ownership history of The Goat Farm.”

“New Zealand brands and New Zealand government departments deserve to know where their advertising budgets are ultimately going. We hope our move helps in their decision making and that other agencies will follow our lead.”
