In celebration of te Reo Maori week, we thought we’d get involved and create a list of common phrases of familiarity to our industry creatives, translated into the beautiful te Reo language.

‘Let’s get a drink!’ – ‘Kia Tiki Inu’

‘Last change I promise’ –
‘Huringa whakamutunga ka oati ahau’

‘Can we see a final copy?’ – ‘
Ka kite taatau i tetahi kape whakamutunga’

‘Sorry for the late reply’ – ‘
Aroha mai mo te mutunga o te whakautu’

‘When’s the deadline?’ – ‘
āhea ana te rā kati’

‘Can we have an extension?’ –
‘Ka taea e taatau te whakaroanga’

‘SHIT’ – ‘PARU’

‘I hate it’ – ‘ Ka kino ahau’

‘Coffee run?’ – ‘Oma kawhe?’

‘I have a lot on my plate’ – ‘He maha aku mea kei runga i taku pereti’
