AUCKLAND, Today: OMD has launched a new campaign for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency which aims to keep the attitudes of e-scooter riders in check. The main launch vehicles are Newmarket-based Cartel Media’s new toblerones.
With ACC reporting over 4500 e-scooter related injuries since October 2018, the task of encouraging safe and courteous riding was set.
Initially, the toblerones – which have been approved by the councils – will be seen in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. The art design is by Clemenger BBDO Wellington.
“With the cut-through of a newly designed media asset, this campaign delivers by engaging with scooter riders during their journeys.”
OMD’s Tristan Burch, who has led Waka Kotahi to recent national and international campaign award success, said: “Targeted relevancy has always been a focus of Waka Kotahi and Cartel.
“With the cut through of a newly designed media asset, this campaign delivers by engaging with scooter riders during their journeys.”
Cartel MD Daryl Harris said: “This is the sort of campaign we are thrilled to execute. We always welcome the challenges of delivering a new media option for clients.
“Waka Kotahi have been courageous over the years to try new things to engage with the NZ public. Being a part of a dynamic and creative OOH media landscape is something we are passionate about, so partnering with the brave and bold on campaigns like this is a real pleasure.”
