Augusto has announced this week that Adam Thompson joins the agency as Executive Creative Director.
Thompson joins the team following his role at London based content agency VCCP and creative director of youth at BBC. He has had experience working in both London and New York, as well as stints at Saatchi and DDB in New Zealand five years ago.
NZ CEO Aimee McCammon says the team have hit the jackpot scoring Thompson.
“His understated and collaborative manner, combined with fierce talent as a filmmaker and creative, is the perfect mix for Augusto.
“He is already working with us on Tourism NZ projects, and who better than a Brit in lockdown to espouse the benefits of NZ right now?”
Thompson’s skills date back to his time as an art director at Publicis, BBH and Y&R, creating films and campaigns for some of the world’s most loved (and unloved) brands.
After a stint in New York, working on fast cars and baseball, he returned to London to work for the BBC, assisting with the relaunch of BBC 3 online, leading creative on their youth brands, and directing promos for Radio 1. Thompson’s passions are filmmaking and crafting powerful stories for brands.
“I feel incredibly lucky to be back in New Zealand at this time and have the opportunity to share this experience with my family,” he says.
“I’m excited to be joining the team at Augusto. They already have an enviable roster of clients, amazing in-house production capabilities, and a fantastic mix of thinkers and makers who are keen to do things a bit differently. I can’t wait to get out of quarantine and get started.”
Adam begins his role based out of the company’s City Works office on November 18th. He can be contacted on adam@augusto.co.nz
