Making Sense

AUCKLAND, Today: NZME has launched the next phase of its NZ Herald Trust ‘headspace’ campaign with a series of lo-budget tvcs – all were created in-house, with the assistance of some freelancers, and feature NZME staff.

NZME brand & marketing GM Sheryl Dunlop said: “The tvc concept ties together issues that are top of mind with New Zealanders and being covered by our New Zealand Herald journalists to help Kiwis make sense of them.”

The first tvc zeroes in on Covid-19, global warming and sailing in NZ.

Dunlop: “The campaign showcases the Herald’s dedication to fuelling the minds of its readers and helping them make sense of today.

“It also reminds us that, in the face of doubt and confusion created as a consequence of the rise of social media, the clear, unbiased presentation of the facts that good New Zealand journalism is known for is more important than ever.

“The print, digital and OOH have very well received and we are excited to be launching the tvc phase.”

“The print, digital and OOH have very well received and we are very excited to be launching the tvc phase.

“We’re really proud that we have been able to build the concept, create, film and produce this tvc with our talented NZME group marketing teams (Creative, Sound, Vision & Marketing).

“Being able to feature our NZME staff has also been a great addition to the campaign.”

In-house?
M+AD asked Herald comms chief Cliff Joiner why in-house?

His response: “We work with ad agencies all the time.

NZME has great creative and production teams and talent in house, and a campaign such as this is an opportunity to showcase that amazing in-house talent.

“When we have the opportunity to use our teams,  we do!”
