PARIS, Today: The Gerety Awards, the only creative prize to reward the best in advertising from the female vision, has two NZ agencies on its shortlist, released overnight in France.
The shortlisted entries from New Zealand are The Unsaid for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency by OMD Auckland, and Keep It Real Online for Department of Internal Affairs, by Motion Sickness Auckland.
The winners will be announced in Paris on 6 September.
Gerety’s Uma Rudd Chia said: “The advertising world and the parameters that define creativity have always been very male-skewed.
“The Gerety Awards are named for Frances Gerety, the copywriter who in 1948 coined the slogan A diamond is forever.”
“Gerety Awards brings a nice balance to this by having an all-female panel to judge creative work from a uniquely female lens.
“And this year the Singapore panel was made up of women creative leaders of different races and cultures which brought about a diversity of thinking to the decisionmaking process.
“It was nice to see how while we all had our unique takes, favourite pieces and differences of opinions, we all collectively agreed on the best work – goes to show that good creative work transcends individual differences.”
