With the aim of reducing its carbon footprint and operating in a more sustainable way, MediaWorks is engaging with Toitū Envirocare.
A subsidiary of the Crown Research Institute – Manaaki Whenua-Landcare Research, Toitū Envirocare is the leading provider of environmental certifications in New Zealand.
The Toitū carbonzero and carbon reduce certification programmes offer a credible framework for organisations to measure, manage, reduce and offset their carbon footprint in line with international best practice.
MediaWorks Chief Operating Officer Jeff McDowall says the initial focus will be on the MediaWorks out-of-home business and Omnigraphics Ltd – which produces MediaWorks’ outdoor content.
“Toitū Envirocare is leading the way in helping its partners improve their environmental performance and we believe it will have the most immediate and significant impact for our out-of-home business.
“While MediaWorks has been working to tackle environmental sustainability over the past few years, we want to take this next step so we’re pleased to be able to work with Toitū to ensure we are operating in the best way possible and contributing to delivering a sustainable future for New Zealand and New Zealanders.”
MediaWorks has also committed to further strengthen its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programme in the coming months.
