Despite New Zealand being in lockdown, MediaWorks is still capturing the attention of the few people out and about through a new playful out-of-home campaign.
The outdoor campaign features two new slogans, one being “Congratulations on seeing this billboard. There are far fewer of you. Most are at home listening to rova.” The other says, “Good time to be in traffic. Not the best time to be on billboards. Time to download rova.”
The campaign is being rolled out across MediaWorks’ digital billboards across the country. MediaWorks Commercial Director Liz Fraser says while lockdowns have a big impact on MediaWorks’ outdoor business with almost a third of normal traffic in Auckland, that hasn’t stopped the team using its out-of-home assets to have a bit of fun in promoting the strength of radio and digital streaming.
“What we do see as New Zealand adjusts to lockdowns, is that our digital streaming app rova continues to deliver impressive results, with streaming going from strength to strength as Kiwis continue to tune into our brands for news and entertainment, with active users up 29 percent week on week.
“During lockdown we’re forced to rethink how we do things, and this is a fun way to highlight the strong demand for audio right now and give our essential workers a smile.”
