AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Outdoor advertising has felt the full force of nationwide lockdown restrictions, with audience reach down by two thirds in Auckland, according to a report by Daniel Dunkley in online news site BusinessDesk.
The site quotes the Out of Home Media Association Aotearoa (OOHMAA), which says reach is down by 62% in Auckland, 52% in Wellington, and 68% in Christchurch, based on Landmarks ID data for the week commencing August 23.
“The volume of cars on the road is at 29% of normal levels, heaping more pressure on outdoor advertisers.”
According to Auckland Transport data, the volume of cars on the road is at 29% of normal levels, heaping more pressure on outdoor advertisers. In April 2020, during last year’s lockdown, volume was at 25% of normal activity.
OOHMAA GM Natasha O’Connor said large city centres would feel the biggest impact from the covid alert level restrictions.
