AUCKLAND, Today: Orcon Group (formerly Vocus Group), the owner of ISP brands Orcon, Slingshot and Flip has appointed Pitchblack Partners after a competitive pitch. A reliable source told M+AD: “There was no incumbent agency at the time the account went to pitch”.
The relationship has already spawned Slingshot’s Free for the Frontline campaign, a thank you to all frontline Kiwis who’ve worked tirelessly throughout the last 18 months, and just this week, Orcon’s A Level Free Announcement campaign offering six months free fibre for SMEs in business distress due to Covid lockdowns.
The account win sees strategy, creative and production for all three brands heading to the agency and its production company, Jetblack.
“The team at Orcon are keen to challenge the category behemoths with real innovation in both product and comms.”
Orcon consumer & business ceo Taryn Hamilton said: “We have been super impressed with the Pitchblack team’s thinking, execution, and production chops.
“We have three challenger brands that need smart, innovative and fast turnaround campaigns, and Pitchblack have the credentials, skills and attitudes we were looking for.”
Pitchblack business partner Campbell McLean said: “The Orcon Group of brands is a fantastic fit for Pitchblack. The team at Orcon are highly collaborative and keen to challenge the category behemoths with real innovation in both product and comms.
“This type of ambitious partner is what we enjoy most.”
