Quantum Jump helps light up Auckland for Dementia

On November 3 and 4, Sky Tower and the Auckland Harbour Bridge were illuminated in Teal to support awareness of dementia, as part of a global Light the World in Teal campaign.

A major digital outdoor campaign ‘Light the Night in Teal’ supported the lighting up of Sky Tower, Auckland Harbour Bridge and other venues including Spark Arena. Dementia Auckland have worked with strategic advertising agency Quantum Jump, media strategists Conductor, and LUMO Digital Outdoor to deliver a major digital outdoor campaign that reinforces the lighting up of Auckland.

“We wanted to build on our recent Light in the Darkness campaign which was a huge success in growing engagement and understanding of how dementia impacts so many Aucklanders,” says Martin Bremner, CEO of Dementia Auckland.

“Dementia is now the third largest cause of death in New Zealand. Light the World in Teal is a powerful visual global initiative that we were keen to get in behind. Auckland has great landmarks to support this.  LUMO have done an amazing job supporting us with great locations around the city, and Quantum Jump’s creative has looked amazing out in the city,” Bremner adds.

“We’ve loved evolving the Light in the Darkness creative territory to deliver Light the Night in Teal; it’s a simple but striking visual twist and it’s great to have so many digital locations to support it – LUMO really came to the party,” says Ben Goodale, CEO of Quantum Jump.

“Hat tip to John Baker for bringing in LUMO on this, and to Jon Ramage and Mike Hall of PR Partners for a great PR plan,” continues Goodale.

“We all know loved ones who have been affected by Dementia, whether that be a friend or family member and it’s a cause LUMO are very proud to support. We encourage others to get behind this great organisation and  seeing the Sky Tower lit up brilliantly will hopefully raise awareness for a cause that often goes unseen,” adds Hamish Smith, CMO of LUMO Digital Outdoor.
