DDB Group Aotearoa has started the new year by bolstering its leadership team with the promotion of Nikki McKelvie to Managing Director.
Previously Managing Partner at DDB, McKelvie joined the business ten years ago and has played a key role in leading the business management team, fostering a high performing culture within the agency.
Priya Patel, DDB Group Aotearoa NZ Chief Executive Officer, says McKelvie is an asset to the business and brings the right mix of bold smarts, pragmatism and expertise.
“Nikki has been an integral part of DDB for the last decade and I’m thrilled to recognise and celebrate her loyalty, passion and continued enthusiasm for our business. No matter what you throw at Nikki, she takes it all in her stride – she’s passionate about our people and our product; and has been a driving force behind some of the agency’s best work.
“I look forward to watching how she, Gary, Rupert and Liz continue to shape the DDB culture, strategy and creative output – they’re a fab team.”
Prior to joining DDB, McKelvie was Client Service Director at Ogilvy, where she led a large brand/FMCG portfolio. She has also held account service roles at Saatchi & Saatchi and M&C Saatchi.
McKelvie says she welcomes the opportunity to help shape the future of the agency, which continues to go from strength-to-strength.
“We have a huge depth of talent at DDB Aotearoa. It’s always felt like you’re working in a place where anything is possible, and being tasked with helping lead that team forward is very special.
“It’s an exciting time for DDB and I feel incredibly honoured to be given this opportunity. We have a strong leadership team, clear direction, and amazing clients – here’s to 2022 and having some fun along the way.”
