Journalist and producer Carol Hirschfeld is joining MediaWorks’ new talk station Today FM as the Executive Producer of the Tova breakfast show.
She will join MediaWorks from Stuff where she has held the role of Head of Video/Audio & Content Partnerships. Prior to her time there, she was Head of Content at Radio New Zealand. She also spent a number of years as Māori Television’s Head of Programming and Production and more than a decade as a presenter and producer at TV3.
Hirschfeld says: “I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with Tova and the Today FM team. Tova is an exceptionally talented and dynamic journalist. Her interviewing and storytelling reflect her natural intelligence, courage and wit. Spending the morning with Tova will be something totally fresh for Aotearoa. She’ll connect New Zealanders to the big issues and she’ll also send them into the day feeling good. We can’t wait to get the show on the road!”
The Tova breakfast show with Tova O’Brien, Mark Dye and newsreader Carly Flynn will broadcast 6:30-9am each weekday.
The launch of Today FM and Tova is yet to be determined.
