CANNES, Today: The global #TikTokShortFilm competition has partnered with NZ On Air Screen Australia and this year’s 75th Cannes Film festival to support Australian and New Zealand narrative content creators and filmmakers.
TikTok aims to grow the next generation of storytellers on the Got a Minute competition, which opened for entries this week.
The global competition encourages video content creators from under-represented backgrounds living in regional or remote areas to develop their story skills and connect with a global audience on TikTok.

Lee Hunter, the Sydney-based GM of Tik Tok Australia and New Zealand, said: “The Festival de Cannes is an iconic moment that’s changed the landscape of global cinema, and we are honoured to welcome them as an official partner”
Festival de Cannes’ Thierry Fremaux said: “We are delighted to partner with TikTok to share the magic with a wider, much more global cinephile audience than ever before.”
Three winners will be selected by a jury to win a cash prize and a trip to Cannes in May. Original submissions will be judged across three categories: Grand Prix, Best Script, and Best Editing.
Submissions will be accepted until Friday 8 April, with winners announced at the end of April.
