HONG KONG, Tuesday: Bestadsontv guest judge John Koay has selected FCB NZ’s Waka Kotahi/NZTA Road To Zero as the best radio ad in the world last week.
Koay, who is a Kiwi, is now regional ECD at Edelman Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.
“Road To Zero is a new approach to road safety,” he said. “The systems approach is about much more than just driver behaviour and calls on everyone from pedestrians to police to play their part.
“John still speaks with a thick-az NZ accent despite being away from home for so long.”
“This radio spot is part of a campaign to communicate the new approach to the country.”
John Koay has won at the Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Clio Awards, ADC, Spikes, Adfest, AWARD, Effies, New York Festivals, London International Awards, and Axis.
According to Campaign Brief’s Michael Lynch, “he still speaks with a thick-az NZ accent despite being away from home for so long”.
