Stuff has appointed Frances Morton to edit its iconic Sunday and Your Weekend magazines.
Frances joins Stuff’s Life team from her role as head of TVNZ’s youth digital platform Re: News. Prior to that she was head of content for VICE New Zealand and has also written for Metro and NZME titles.
Head of Life’s Sarah Stuart says: “I’m thrilled to have someone of Frances’ calibre take the reins at Sunday and Your Weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing how she nurtures and grows these much-loved titles. Frances has an impressive media record and will lead the team in delivering engaging, thought-provoking and joyful content to our audiences in print and online.”
Frances says; “It’s hugely exciting to be stepping into this role. Sunday and Your Weekend celebrate, reflect and reveal the best things about life in Aotearoa. I’m looking forward to working with Stuff’s extraordinary team of writers, creatives and contributors to bring readers delight, discovery and new perspectives every weekend.”
Sunday magazine can be found tucked inside the Sunday Star-Times, its pages are filled with market-leading and personality-driven home, food, wine, style, beauty, design and thought leadership content.
Your Weekend is included in the Saturday editions of The Dominion Post, The Press and Waikato Times.
Both titles reach a combined audience of more than 638,000 New Zealanders.
Frances will take up the editor’s seat in July, following current editor Nyree McFarlane’s return to the United Arab Emirates.
