Kernel Wealth and integrated media and creative agency Contagion have partnered to launch their first national advertising campaign: “Make it Happen”.
This Kiwi-owned and operated company is New Zealand’s fastest growing fund manager and has been operating since 2019.
Their investment platform gives fellow Kiwis the opportunity to grow their wealth by investing in a range of index funds using their state-of-the-art, mobile-friendly online platform, meaning you can manage your investment portfolio from anywhere.
The national advertising campaign will run on TV, outdoor via LUMO, digital video, display and social. The creative is built around the insight that we want to see our money grow so our dreams can become reality. To do this effectively Kiwis need a community where they have the same access to the best financial tools that were previously only available to the few. It also needs to be easy, tailored to their specific situation, and jargon free.
“Kernel is flipping traditional financial services on its head. We’ve been built from the ground up to be on the side of the investor,” says Dean Anderson, Kernel CEO.
“We want to shift the conversation to focus on what our customers unique goals are, their lifetime aspirations, the future they want to see – then providing the solutions to help them on that journey. Our brand campaign is an invitation to everyday Kiwis to take action on their financial goals. For them to make the future they want happen with Kernel. It’s been a pleasure working with Contagion to bring our brand campaign and TVC to life.”
The company approached Contagion for their strategic expertise and the fact they offer an integrated marketing approach.
Dean Taylor, Founder of Contagion, says the team loved Kernel from the moment they walked into the agency.
“They have super positive energy and make things happen very quickly. We started with workshops, moving onto a fantastic collaboration between strategy, creative media and cutting edge digital thinking. We needed a simple message, yet one inspiring enough to enable people to see their financial goals are totally possible. Wealthier everyday Kiwis is a very worthy cause.”
Oliver Maisey, Executive Creative Director for the campaign says Kernel has a clear path to investment success and is for those “who don’t believe in procrastination”.
“These ads are a call out to a generation of investors who’ll make the most of the opportunity. If you want to make a good future happen, you can’t just sit around. You have to make it happen.”
Rebecca Lloyd, GM of Contagion Media, says the two companies working closely together “has resulted in a cohesive strategy which will speak to Kernel’s core audiences and their unique motivations. The collaboration will continue as we learn on the go, and optimise our media and messaging”.
