After two years of virtual events, it’s time to pop a real-life bottle as the best in PR, experiential and social media are recognised at the Comms Council 2022 Pressie Awards.
This year marks The Pressies 5th birthday, and the industry is getting ready to celebrate with an awards ceremony set to be bigger and better than ever before.
Call for Entries are now open and to mark its fifth year, the PRESCom team is launching a range of fresh initiatives including two new award categories – Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Non-profit, a free Pressies Entry Writing Workshop, new sponsors including Stuff, NZME, Meta and Radlab, and an IRL awards ceremony event set to be a social calendar stand-out.
Pressies Committee Chair, Sean Brown says: “We’re excited to make this the biggest and best Pressies Awards ever. Over the past five years the communications landscape has fundamentally shifted, and now social, influencer marketing, earned media and experiential are at the heart of what makes any campaign truly exceptional. These disciplines and the people behind them bring the magic, and we want to take a moment to stop and celebrate all the hustle, hard work and passion that goes into making what we do great.”
This year’s convenor of judges, Katherine Broughton, adds: “We invite everyone in the industry to share their work and join us on the night – whether you’re an independent or a small, mid, or large sized agency we’d love to celebrate your work and everything you’ve achieved. We’re also launching a free entry award writing workshop, to give everyone the confidence to write entries that do their excellent work justice.”
Anyone, at any level, can sign up for the free Pressies Awards Writing Workshop online event hosted by Mango’s Sean Brown, on Wednesday September 14 at 10am by registering online here. Brown will share best practices for writing an award-winning entry, and past Pressies gold award winners will share their tips and tricks.
2022 Pressies awards categories include Best Use of Media Relations, Best Sponsorship or Media Partnership, Best Public Affairs or Stakeholder Management Campaign, Best Use of Social Media, Best Experiential or Event Campaign, Best Sampling or Retail Activation, Best Community Management Impact, Most Innovative Campaign, Best Integrated Campaign, Best Strategic Thinking, Bravest Client, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Non-profit and the Grand Prix.
Alongside Katherine Broughton (Katherine Broughton Consulting) as chair, the PRESCom Executive Committee includes Sean Brown (Mango), Angelina Farry (Eleven NZ), Kelly Grindle (Special PR), Gina McKinnon (Fuse), Katie Walton (Drum), Adelle Keely (Acumen).
This year’s Pressie awards ceremony will be MC’d by NZME’s very own Kerre Woodham. “I’m so excited to be a part of this year’s Pressie awards. I love the industry, and can’t wait to celebrate the best PR, experiential and social campaigns for 2022,” says Woodham.
The awards ceremony event will take place on Thursday 24 November, so don’t panic, you still have plenty of time to plan your outfit.
StopPress will also carry exclusive Pressie content in the run-up to awards and profiles on winners post event.
