NEW YORK, Today: The One Club for Creativity has named one New Zealand entry in its shortlist for the ninth One Screen Short Film Festival.
One Screen celebrates global filmmakers from both commercial advertising and film industries – and has a mission to award filmmakers from around the world working in both the film and ad industries, with no limitation and total artistic freedom.
The NZ film is Datsun, out of Sweetshop Auckland’s new production arm, Green Films. It was entered in the Self-Promotion category.
It was directed by Mark Albiston, produced by Sharlene George, Gal Greenspan and Andy Mauger. Datsun tells the story of 14-year-old Matt as he takes his dad’s yellow Datsun for one last wild joyride with his best buddy and kid brother in tow.
“One Screen celebrates global filmmakers from both commercial advertising and film industries.”
The shortlist comprises entries from Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Georgia, Hungary, India, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and US.
Entries were judged by a jury of leading film directors, producers, agency creatives, and production company heads from around the world.
This year’s winners will be announced at the One Screen Short Film Festival ceremony on December 1 at the SVA Theatre in New York.
As part of The One Club, One Screen has its pedigree in the prestigious One Show, a leading global awards for advertising and design.
