SCG Media has announced the appointment of Lisa Anderson who has come onboard as Commercial Manager for New Zealand’s leading sustainability and wellbeing lifestyle title Good magazine.
Lisa has worked within the media landscape selling advertising for more than 12 years and has been an avid reader of Good for 10 of those.
“I’m more aware than ever of the impact of my purchasing decisions on the planet and I look forward to helping brands tell their sustainability stories through our platform,” says Lisa.
And there has never been a better time to talk about sustainability practices in your business – big or small.
Key takeaways from the recent Marketing Association sustainability forum confirm why doing the right thing within your business and promoting that is a win win.
- Consumers want to know what you’re doing. And if you are doing good, the chances are they will support you. Since pandemic 65 percent of New Zealanders are thinking about what’s important for them moving forward and this is changing the way that people are making purchase decisions.
- 90 percent of consumers in New Zealand would choose a sustainable brand if price and quality were on par compared with alternatives.
- 35 percent of consumers would pay a premium for a sustainable brand.
- Globally, 72 percent of consumers want radical change when it comes to brand transparency and sustainability – no waste, no plastic. And 93 percent of people expect more actions from global brands than governments.
- Consumers actually want organisations to talk about the great work that they’re doing in sustainability. There’s a growing appreciation of the fact that many organisations have strategies and are on the road to net zero and 52 percent of Kiwis feel that brands have a role and opportunity to talk in an authentic and honest way about what they’re doing.
“Good magazine is a great place to talk about sustainability practices in your business – big or small,” says Lisa.
“It’s wonderful to be working for title that walks the talk and champions brands who are making a positive difference for people and the planet. The recent Best of Natural Awards held in partnership with HealthPost is a great example of that.”
