Comms Council Industry support group, First Five Rungs, has announced an event for emerging talent in the communications and advertising industry, held 6pm-8pm, Thursday, 16 March at Dentsu, 68 Sale Street.
This will be the third installation of First Five Dates in recent years, and following the lack of events during covid there’s been a serious need for emerging talent to network and meet others in the same position when they haven’t had the opportunity.
The ‘speed-dating-esque’ networking evening will be held at Dentsu and see groups of five or six mingling at tables with other like-minded people, getting to know others in the industry and starting to build their own networks. True to the relaxed nature of the event and to take the pressure off a traditional ‘First Date’, these first five dates are enjoyed over pizza and a few drinks.
Zoë MacDonald-Mair, chair of the First Five Rungs says: “Following the research we conducted last year, we know that people in the first five years of their career have been feeling like their missing out on what makes the industry great. The importance of having events specifically for emerging talent goes beyond having a few beers with colleagues, it’s about building those important networking connections for life.”
Those in the first five years of their career in Comms Council agencies are invited to attend the evening of inspiration and networking.
The First Five Rungs is a Comms Council initiative made up of young people across the communications industry, whose mission is to help industry newcomers receive the best possible start.
